Grace Kelly’s acting career started in 1950 as she raced to fame in a string of box office hits including “High Noon”, “Dial M for Murder”, “Rear Window” and “The Country Girl” where she picked up a Best Actress Oscar for her role as Georgie Elgin. “High Society” in 1956, with Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, was to be her last film as she embarked on a life of royal duties as Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco.
She married Prince Rainier III in April 1956 and they had thee children, Prince Albert and Princesses Stephanie and Caroline. She suffered a stroke whilst driving Princess Stephanie to Monaco, losing control of the vehicle she crashed and died the following day on 14 September 1982 at the age of 52. |
